Gareth ap Owain
needs peace for Wales and the only way he can achieve it is to marry the
Norman Lady Tanon Risande. He cannot give the lovely lady the finery she
is used to, but he can show her that his savagery is only for the
battlefield, not the bedroom. Tanon is determined not to fall for Gareth,
but Gareth is determined to use every sensual weapon he possesses to lure
her willingly to his bed. While fighting the battle of the sexes with
Tanon, he also needs to fight the very real battle of betrayal within his
own ranks and a brother who wants to become king in his stead. Tanon,
cannot help but notice how the ladies of the court sigh as Gareth passes
them by, and when he gazes upon her, she cannot help but wonder what it
would be like to have the handsome savage in her bed.
An historical of
the finest caliber, Paula Quinn gives her readers adventure, passion,
betrayal and romance. Her characters are vibrant and alive. The setting
is rich in historical imagery and will take the reader back in time to
days long gone by. Gareth is strong, honorable, and fiercely protective
of those he loves and in short, a hero to die for. Tanon is amusing,
feisty, very much a woman when it comes to Gareth. The reader will find
the interaction between these two very entertaining. This reviewer
enjoyed this story very much and savored each and every word. The plot
swept this reviewer along and the twists and turns at the end kept the
plot fresh and alive. The secondary characters give life and depth to the
story and a secondary romance was also entertaining. Ms. Quinn has
masterfully woven a story that will thrill the reader and have her looking
up more titles from this talented author.
