Mystery

Annabelle Archer is a wedding planner in Washington D.C.  One of many, she is the new up and coming star.  When she is at a hotel during a wedding, where there are many other brides and planners running around, she finds Carolyn Crabbe, grande dame of bridal blowouts, dangling from the banister of her reception room, hung by a wedding veil.  As Annabel was seen arguing with Carolyn just before, she could be a prime suspect.  However, there are others who had a bone to pick with Carolyn.  But when another industry professional is killed, Annabel knows she must unveil the murderer before she’s the next.  With her best friend and caterer Richard at her side, she proceeds to gather evidence.  At the same time, she’s juggling her attraction to a certain detective, and her boyfriend, the kilt wearing band singer.

If you like a lot of humor and wacky characters with your mystery, then you will certainly like this story by Laura Durham.  It’s the third in a series starring Annabell Archer.  The other titles are FOR BETTER OR HEARSE and BETTER OFF WED.  Laura Durham takes her readers into the cutthroat world of the wedding planners.  Apart from Annabell, the main character, there are a number of secondary characters that give this story a lot of charm and interest.  Especially the two love interests that she has.  There is also a very wacky neighbor, an elderly lady who likes to wear things that light up or makes noises and her sexy assistant.  This reviewer enjoyed this story very much, even though it was a little predictable at times, I couldn’t stop reading it until it was finished.  Well done!
