Hope’s life has
been a mess for a year, she has been cleared of murdering her lover but
that has not changed the fact that her career is ruined and she misses
Mark desperately. She does not quite understand why she is still Mike’s
mistress since she knows that he is the one who pulled the trigger, yet
she cannot seem to end it with him.
With Mike’s wife,
Anne, out of town for a week, Mike and Hope have some time to themselves.
Or Hope thought they did, until she runs into their friends Karen and Paul
Livingston and they all decide to have a cookout at the condo that Hope
and Mike share. Not only do they plan to share a meal, they plan to share
partners with each other.
TAMING A
MISTRESS is surprising with
several dark and twisted elements. The sex is intense as is the emotions
that Hope wrestles with from the beginning all the way until the very
end. Hope is a woman who thought she could right the wrongs of her life
and still find happiness with Mark and Mike has acted as the blockade to
her accomplishing that.
While Karen and
Paul just seem like any other couple in the beginning, even their darker
sides begin to shine through. Mike is difficult to like from the start
and he does nothing to redeem himself.
The fact that
TAMING A MISTRESS is such a short book almost disappointed this
reviewer, however after reading it there was no disappointment. Ms.
Blaine packed this book with dark emotions and left room for a follow up
if she was so inclined!
