ROSE AMONG HEATHER (Jennifer Mueller) 

After being away from home fighting in the Napoleon war, Duke Edward Sinclair comes home to find his mother planning a ball and the house filled to the brim. All Edward wanted to do was sit back, relax, and forget the hellish war but alas he has to be nice for weeks to people he doesn’t even know! With not a space to himself in his own castle, Rose among the Scottish Heather gives him a space and soon Edward finds himself falling for a woman who can only understand what he went through and give him the comfort only she can! 

Author Jennifer Mueller is a delight to this reviewer. With her fast pace, exquisite details to the time period and captivating characters, she can deliver a story that blows you away from the first page to the last. This was a delight to read and will captivate you with the force of the passion that simmers under the words between Edward and Rose.  One of the gems in this anthology! 

Laudanum (Nikki Watson) 

Frederick Barrington has it pretty easy in life. He is a regular patron at Madam Moon’s establishment and as an opium dealer, has cash a plenty on hand to pay for his whims. He just has one problem at Madam Moons: Selina. 

Juliana Williams ran away from home and ends up at Madam Moons where she meets Frederick. When he buys her for an entire weekend, she doesn’t expect to find that love will grow in one single weekend. 

Ms. Watson writes an interesting tale of a man who has everything and a woman who lost everything dear to her. With flair and wit that surprised this reviewer, Ms. Watson delivers a tale that will leave you breathless and panting for more. Seamlessly told, this writer is one to watch out for in the future and be ready to be mesmerized by her writing style. 

Of Licorice and Decadence (Katrina Strauss) 

As the most celebrated composer, Klaus von Alstyne is uninspired and it is time to find his muse or risk losing all he has gained as a composer. When he meets stage beauty Nicolette Neville, he finds himself drawn into the wild rush of pursuing her. Will Klaus find that elusive muse or will he be doomed to be uninspired forever?  

Ms. Strauss writes a fast-paced tale that has the right elements of a captivating story: engrossing characters, and a passion that takes your breath away. With her writers’ paint brush flowing across the pages; she delivers a story that will have you asking for more once the last page is read. Get ready to see if Klaus finds his elusive mistress, the muse, or will his pursuit of Nicolette have him lose that creativity that has given him much joy but also let him see the love she has for him as well? Exquisite and a true literary gem! 

Unspeakable (Kaleigh Jamison) 

A true rake, Trevor Caufield has prided himself on that reputation until a chance meeting with a strangely silent woman in a darkened hallway. Setting out to pursue the exquisite Emma Hatton with only his selfish needs in mind, Trevor is about to find that love can give him some complicated emotions and deliver a world he never thought to enter until now. 

This was a witty and delightful tale of a selfish man who finds himself learning that love will change even the most consummate rake with a twist of an arrow. Ms. Jamison captures the characters perfectly and delivers a spellbinding story in this anthology. Wickedly witty, hauntingly passionate, be prepared to turn on the cold air for this hot story that shows love needs no words to convey its meaning. 

At the Lady’s Discretion (Emma Wildes) 

The Duke of Hartley is one jaded, sophisticated man utterly captivated by his new mistress. He never experienced a mistress who is fascinating, beautiful and yet has an edge that keeps him on his toes. Louisa Drury had an awful marriage and if she is to become the enigmatic Duke’s new mistress, it will be on her terms, exclusively and at her discretion.         

Ms. Wildes delivers a wildly sinful tale of a woman determined to do things her way and on her terms. With this author’s flair and wit, the characters come alive and the reader is transported to a time where the men are men and the women go toe to toe with them. Wonderfully mesmerizing and hotter than Hades, be sure to keep a fan handy from all the steam pouring from amid the pages. 

This is one of the best Regency anthologies this reviewer has read in a long time. Full of captivating characters, sinfully passionate sex and a love that will transcend the pages. Each story is a true gem in this anthology and each author delivers her own spin on this time period. Be swept away into the regency period with these fine authors in REGENCY ROMP VOLUME 1, you won’t be disappointed!
