Inspirational Contemporary Romance

Marin Alexander, soap star and up and coming actress, is swept off her feet by debonair pastor and televangelist Warner Brice.  Despite the misgivings of his family about the type of pastor’s wife Marin will be, Warner determines that Marin is the love of his life and is truly a gift sent from God.  For her part, Marin feels a tad apprehensive about the life style changes she may have to make, but she truly loves Warner and desires to be his wife.  Both feel some insecurity about the practices of the other, but they are basically happy and soon find themselves the parents of two wonderful sons.  When Marin decides to resume her acting career, trouble quickly follows.  Will Warner be able to follow God’s leading and provide REDEMPTION for his wife?

Ms. Thomas has chosen to retell the little known Bible story of the prophet Hosea and his wife Gomer, which is a classic illustration of the redemptive power of God’s love and his patience with us.  This is a very engrossing tale of a powerful love story and it’s ending, while happy, does hold some interesting twists.  Warner was much more patient and obedient to the will of God as it concerned his wife than many people could or would be, and does not appear weak for forgiving her over and over again.  Marin’s mistakes are understandable in light of her troubled relationship with her own mother and father, and the reader will quickly see that Marin is simply searching for the love she feels she never really received from anyone, including her family.  Ms. Thomas’ retelling is as powerful as the original Biblical tale and holds many lessons for today’s Christian.  Readers of inspirational romance will enjoy this engrossing tale.  Highly recommended!
