Laith Moreland, the
Third Duke of Crichton died together with his true love, Lady Cassandra
Belstowe when his twin brother, Jareth got a witch to cause an accident.
The witch, wanting Jareth for herself cursed Laith to stay as a ghost on
the earth, searching for his love who will one day be born again. She
also bonded them as soul mates. The only way Jareth could claim Cassandra
is to get to her first. Jareth, in order to stay immortal until that
time, had the witch turn him into a vampire. When Laith finally finds
Cassandra, who is now Cassie, he has to wait until the full moon to be
able to join with her and break the curse, allowing him to stay human and
be with her again. But Jareth is hot on the trail and is determined to
use his likeness to Laith to claim Cassie before they can join. Two
brothers want the same woman, but only one can survive.
Rebecca Goings can
write a dark, spooky story that will give her fans and readers a thrill.
She has written characters that leap off the page and a villain who will
thrill and chill. The conflict between the twin brothers palpitates with
hate and jealousy. Jareth will do anything to claim Cassie for himself.
The plot is breathtaking, keeping the reader scrolling those cyber pages
as fast as she can. There are certainly some nice sizzles in this story
as Cassie remembers Laith and the soul mate bond strengthens between
them. It would have been nice if Jareth could have had some redemption.
This reviewer enjoyed this story very much and was already a firm fan of
Rebecca Goings’ writing. She always gives her reader a story to remember
and characters that the reader will be thinking about for a while. This
reviewer is looking forward to the next book from this talented writer and
does hope it won’t be too long in coming.
