Casting Call For Love

Valerie is a down on her luck actress, a dime a dozen in Los Angeles. She’s been evicted from her apartment and is living in her car with her beloved cat, Sammy and now that’s about to be repossessed. She really needs a job but she refuses to lower herself to playing the “casting couch” game to get a part. When her agent sends her on an audition for a company that makes “porn for women” she is leery, but desperation has her showing up for the audition.

Roland Westwood, owner of Midnight Interludes, has made his fortune in the porn industry, starting in the business before it was legal. Due to intense competition in the industry, he has moved his production company in a new direction, erotic romances. His movies have real actors, a plot, romance, and real sex on screen. Having bought the rights to the popular book series, Bloodlust, Roland intends to bring Midnight Interludes to the next level. Now all he has to do is find the perfect actress to play the lead. When Valerie show up at his casting call, he knows he has found is his “Elecktra.” But this vulnerable woman is attracting his attention on a whole different level. Roland decided long ago not to mix business with pleasure but his heart is not listening.

CASTING CALL FOR LOVE by Melodee Aaron is a wonderful love story with exceptionally well developed characters. The heroine, Valerie, has had such a hard life, having lost her parents in an accident ten years before. She has had to make it on her own and is a strong and mature woman at age 26. Her determination will capture the reader’s heart. The hero, Roland, is a 46 year-old man who has been in the “industry” for a long time and has been around the block a time or two so to speak. This could have left him jaded but it hasn’t. For all his wealth and success, he is lonely and longs for a simpler life. The story explores the difficult issues of a May – December romance as the characters try to find their place and deeply committed love in the process. Ms. Aaron has written real characters with real lives and dreams. The emotions when Valerie and Roland come together are powerful and romantic.

Ms. Aaron has effectively done what Midnight Interludes’ director Roland Westwood set out to do in his films, created a romantic story with an intriguing storyline and engrossing characters that capture the heart.
