Selena Milano and
her son Drew adopt a sixty pound puppy and their life becomes sheer
chaos. He disrupts their entire lives by eating sofa cushions, dragging
them on the leash and even disgruntles local business owners when he
destroys their shops. They may worship their new pet, but their neighbors
want to force them to be evicted if they cannot bring Axel under control.
Selena is forced to
call Jack Quinn, a local dog behaviorist, in to help them control Axel.
While Selena nor Drew want to like the man, he shows them what their dog
could be with the right guidance, and makes Selena find herself falling
head over heels – and not because Axel tripped her!
Selena is an
independent woman who has made her son her entire life. When she finds
herself attracted to Jack she pulls back and tries to make her way with
Axel and Drew on their own. When Jack pushes at her to let him into her
inner circle she finds herself wanting more. Their interplay as they come
together is entertaining and emotional. Amy Frazier has created a plot
with twists and turns that will leave readers laughing and may even call a
few tears to reader’s eyes.
The secondary
characters including Drew, Selena’s friends and most especially Axel lend
drama to this story that make it a top notch Super Romance from
Harlequin. To this reader, novels like this one are what make this one of
the best lines of romantic fiction on the market today. This reviewer
highly recommends BLAME IT ON THE DOG not only for the humor but
for the fast paced, tight writing that make this a great read.
