Killian longs for his
Angel. When once they were lovers and inseparable, they are now on both
sides of a great chasm that keeps them apart. Killian thought he had to
compete with the god that Angel works for and so he let James convince him
that the only way to stay with Angel forever would be to change into a
vampire. But he kills, and Angel is now his enemy and has to hunt him
down. He desires one last night with her, one night of passion before one
of them ends the hunting game. He manages to capture her one night and
takes her to his secluded cabin. Angel cannot deny her traitorous body
that calls to Killian. It saddens her deeply that they no longer can
share their lives as before, but Killian made a decision and the end must
undoubtedly come. Is there no hope?
Although this story is
quite short, L. Shannon draws her reader into a dark world of vampires and
demons, passion and sex, lust and love. She writes multi-dimensional
characters that leap off the pages. Killian is the perfect tortured hero
who must now face the consequences for the mistake he made. He is a
vampire of the darker sort who craves to kill and gives in to his blood
lust. Angel is a strong character who knows that fate must have her way,
no matter what the outcome. Her heart bleeds for Killian and the reader
learns a lot about her from her introspection. The reader will certainly
be hanging on the edge of her seat wondering how these two lovers will
sort themselves out. This is a dark, gritty tale with a twist at the end
that will give the reader a surprise and a shiver.
