The fifteenth book is the charm for
Laurell K. Hamilton’s latest Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, foray into the
dark and fantastical world of vampires, shapeshifters and magic big and
small. THE HARLEQUIN is everything you come to expect from the incredibly
imaginative Ms. Hamilton and so much more.
Anita Blake and her stable of studly men
are once again called on to keep peace within the vampire, shapeshifter
and human worlds. Anita comes to the party armed and ready to play. When
vampire and church leader, Malcolm, comes to Anita for help with a problem
too scary to say out loud, she turns to sweetie Jean-Claude, vampire
Master of the City in St. Louis. But when their triumvirate with werewolf
Ulfric, Richard Zeeman, turns out to be the real target of the Harlequin,
the vampire uber-police, it will take every magical connection they have
to save her people and rid St. Louis of this frightening threat.
Ms. Hamilton really must have
listened to what her fans were saying they liked and disliked in the past
few Anita Blake books, because THE HARLEQUIN surpasses
expectations. Just about every character from past books gets a mention
in this book. Even Edward and Olaf fans are going to applaud Ms.
Hamilton’s wicked imagination. Anita’s police friends are back as well as
the very sexy rat King who is now stepping up. For those that hoped for a
little more magic and a little less of the ardeur, you too will be
pleased. Anita is learning control and balance in all aspects of her life
in this book.
THE HARLEQUIN
is dark and sexy with pulse pounding magic around every corner. If you
are wondering whether or not to spend the money on Laurell K. Hamilton’s
latest vampire hunter book, the answer is an emphatic “GET IT TODAY”.
