GameNet: a whole
new world of games reminiscent of the roman gladiators. Only here’s the
twist, these gamers are fighting with martial arts, guns and motor
vehicles. With the economy crumbling and companies going bankrupt a few
opportunists see a way to spur growth. James ‘Bells’ Whittier is a
gamer. He and his wife Kimi live in the aftermath of a war that has left
a nuclear wasteland. Bells has just won a big match and his opponent is
in the hospital. Most of the gamers are friends, but Bells has an enemy,
Laredo, who is cowardly and dangerous. Laredo hires help to get rid of
Bells, but Bells is cleverer than he first believed. Bells needs to bring
out the fire within him to beat Laredo, but it could kill him in the
process.
Fans of Michael
Barnette’s character Bells will be thrilled with this story. Mr. Barnette
tells his reader how Bells acquired his unique talent. This is exciting,
full of action and something that is unusual in his stories so far, no sex
scenes. But, nevertheless, readers will see how Bells got his name, the
trademark of his hair braided with beads and bells. The reader will also
meet Kimi who has been mentioned in other stories. Mr. Barnette writes
breathtaking action that will keep the reader racing along, not wanting to
miss a word. He also gives his readers an apocalyptic world where
GamesNet is the people’s entertainment and its gamers the heroes. This
reviewer just spent a wonderful time reading this story and hopes that
there will be more from Bells and GameNet
