Historical Romance

There were rumors that Lord Dare Debenham did not act honorably during the war. Lady Thea Debenham would do anything to help her brother, even if it means spending time with that “Vile Viscount” Horatio Cave.

The new Viscount Darien has came home to prove that he doesn’t deserve dishonor that his family has earned. He earned a glowing reputation in the army and with the help of Lady Thea he is sure he can return to the ton with his family’s reputation restored.

This reader was enthralled with LADY BEWARE from the first page. The characters are riveting and the storyline intriguing. This book is a very well penned tale of a man who is struggling to overcome a well-earned ill reputation that has followed his family for years for the sake of his younger brother. But that will prove very difficult. Darien is a handsome and dashing character that will leave the female reader very satisfied, even if his methods at the beginning leave a little to be desired…bribery. He is wiling to erase the scandalous rumours that plague the Debenham family, but only if Lady Thea agrees to become his betrothed. While she agrees, Lady Thea immediately sets out to find a way for Darien to return to polite society without the need to announce an engagement, an engagement that few would believe to begin with as she has been dubbed “The Great Untouchable” but members of the Ton. Lady Thea is a wonderful, headstrong woman who is very intelligent. She wove her way right into this reader’s heart.

A secondary cast of interesting characters completes this wonderful tale. Members of the Company of Rogues, a group of friends from school are among these characters. Darien was not a member of their elite group, however because of his service to one of their own, Thea’s brother Dare, they come to his aid.

LADY BEWARE is one of several books about this Company of Rogues. Other titles include The Rogue’s Return and To Rescue A Rogue. This reader hasn’t read these other titles but will definitely be on the look out for them! LADY BEWARE is a stand-alone book and will be a pleasure to read to any historical romance lover. So don’t miss out! Author Jo Beverley wields a very gifted pen. This is a very delightful read that shouldn’t be missed.
