Cheyenne McCray’s CHOSEN PREY is
an out and out race to stay one step ahead of a fanatical cult and their
insane leader. Lyra Collins
escaped five long years ago from the cult that still held her mother. And
even though all this time has passed, she still cannot let down her
guard. She knows they are looking for, and will continue to hunt, her
until she is once again at their mercy.
Cop turned private investigator Dare
Lancaster had no idea he was leading a fanatical cult right to Lyra’s
doorstep when he agreed to find her. But now that he has brought trouble
to her door, he is determined to get her out.
Cheyenne McCray’s CHOSEN PREY
is action packed from start to finish. From the moment Dare shows up and
Lyra realizes she has been found, the chase is on. Dare refuses to let
Lyra down as he thinks he did his ex-partner long ago. The two of them
run from the insane leader of the Temple of Life and his followers who
believe Lyra is destined to produce the new Messiah and will stop at
nothing to see that prophesy fulfilled. Of course, Dare is equally
determined to make sure they never come set eyes on Lyra again.
The characters in this book are all
well defined and complex. And though it would be hard not to cheer for
Dare and Lyra, this reader’s favorite characters were the wonderfully
sneaky Mrs. Yosko and the sick and villainous Neal Barker, leader of the
cult chasing Lyra. You just know Mrs. Yosko is not at all what she seems
as soon as she enters the story. Her part in the storyline is small, but
she really adds something to the book. And the insane leader of the
Temple of Life, Neal Barker, is so demented and corrupt that you just
can’t wait to see what he will do next while waiting for him and Dare to
meet face to face.
Cheyenne McCray’s CHOSEN PREY
is a powerfully explosive and spine-tingling romantic suspense that
lingers in the mind long after the last page is read.
