Miranda Marshall is the woman all the other employees of Promptel trust to help them battle management when they have issues that need resolving.  However, Miranda is in for a battle of her own now.   

On her way to a meeting, she is stuck in an elevator and has the best sex she has ever had with a drop dead gorgeous man she has never met before.  That same man turns out to be the CEO, Justin Hale.  Miranda tries to put the elevator incident and Justin aside and pretend that she is not madly attracted to her boss.  Justin does not intend to let that happen and begins a very aggressive pursuit of Miranda.  Somebody else at the office is aware of the affair in detail and begins leaving Miranda hints that they know what she is doing and they are not going to let it continue.  Now, Justin and Miranda need to figure out who it is before their harmless pranks turn more serious. 

BECAUSE I CAN is a lighthearted yet steamy approach to sex in the workplace.  Miranda is a woman who is never afraid to speak her mind unless it deals with matters of the heart; she also never likes to lose control of herself or a situation.    Justin is a man who is never afraid to go after what he wants and is just as much of a control freak as Miranda.  Pairing Justin and Miranda makes for very entertaining reading as each tries to make the other lose their cherished control!   

The suspense element of the story is great; it makes the already good book become more of a page-turner, as the reader is eager to see who is trying to frighten Miranda.  This is also a chance for the reader to see the protective side of Justin as he tries to keep Miranda safe.   

This reviewer highly recommends BECAUSE I CAN, Ms. Jones has written a wonderful summer read with likeable characters and an Australian setting that will not disappoint.
