Here we find the
Fates, who don’t always have good things for man. In these four
outstanding stories, the authors show that passion has it in for the
Fates.
The Rogue Soul
by Kara Fey
Tony is able to
defy death, but doesn’t realise that he could unravel the Fates perfectly
woven Tapestry and cause the existance of mankind to cease. Chloe shows
up to end his life and thus bring everything back to order and Tony just
can’t resist seducing the beautiful goddess. Chloe now needs to decide if
forbidden love is worth the risk to the humans she is bound to protect and
to her heart.
Kara Fey has
written a beautiful story that draws the reader in and holds her captive.
She has woven a story of forbidden love, revenge and the power of the gods
and goddesses. Ms. Fey’s characters are deep, interesting and will
certainly find their way into the reader’s heart. There is a rather
delicious shower scene in this story. There is a lot of emotion and the
reader is sure to enjoy this fascinating story.
The Fate of
Lachesis by Rena Marks
Lachesis is
surprised one day when Ares, her ex-lover turns up with a mortal who wants
to see her. When she meets Aaron of Arcules, she realises that during her
work, her daydreaming led her to create the man of her dreams. Mortal
woman can’t keep up with his libido so she offers him one night to give
him a taste of satisfaction. She wants to keep him but her sister,
Atropos is getting ready to cut his thread and end his life.
This story is very
emotional and had this reviewer reaching for a hanky. Lachesis is the
more emotional and happy of the three Fates and her involvement with Aaron
is very sensual, romantic and sizzling. Rena Marks writes a story that
entices the reader, teases the reader and holds the reader tightly in her
sensual web. Then she squeezes the reader’s heart and on a satisfied sigh
lets it go again. This reviewer loved this story very much.
The Awakening by
Kally Jo Surbeck
Atropos, the eldest
of the Fates is responsible for deciding when someone should die. She
deals out death impartially, uncaring, a duty that has to be done and she
gets it done. One thing she craves for is a connection. She feels she is
dying emotionally. Then Narcissus comes along with an offer. Can he be
more than a stunningly handsome man? Can she feel without shattering?
Attie learns that with love comes strength.
Here we have the
tortured heroine. In Attie, we see a woman with a duty that is
threatening to take her very soul. Kally Jo Surbeck writes a gripping
story about such a woman and her awakening. Ms. Surbeck gives her readers
a sexually, sensual read. And readers, Narcissus has his own story too,
and you may be very surprised about what really happened between him and
Echo. A very enjoyable read.
Chasing Luck by
Melissa Schroeder
Luck is the outlaw
of the Fates. Just doing as she pleases. She really just wants to be
normal, so ends up in a small town and opens a bookshop. What she finds
is Chase Franklin, the sheriff. Now Chase has a big secret, he’s a god
who has been plotting revenge for a long time. When Hera comes along with
a chance to finally get his revenge he accepts, but doesn’t plan on
falling in love with that chance.
This is a delicious
story about the important things in life. Luck and Chase are just so
right for each other even though at first they fight their attraction.
Thanks to Hera, Chase decides to go after her. This is also a very
sensual story, with emotions running hot! This reviewer has been a fan of
Melissa Schroeder for some time and has always enjoyed her stories. This
story has definitely been no exception.
A unique anthology
that this reviewer can highly recommend, TEMPTING FATE will warm up
any cold winter night!
