Raven
is an undercover agent. He is also a vampire. He is at present on a
world working with the local law enforcers to uncover a drug ring. Its
leader is a rogue wizard. He finds out that there is advanced technology
involved and he has to report in and meet a TAU agent whose job it is to
prevent technological contamination. Enter, Valerie Winn, a woman who can
fight and has psi capabilities. They both get caught up in more than they
bargained for. The Governors are planning a revolt against the Church,
the need to get rid of an advanced weapon is necessary and when Byron
Beard shows up to tell of certain artefacts their adventures are just
beginning. They are soon off on a ship to an artic climate. Things heat
up between Raven and Valerie as they find themselves attracted to each
other, not to mention the excitement as two immortals join the game.
Vampires may be immune to many things but love doesn’t seem to be one of
them.
Saje
Williams has penned a tale that is epic in its proportions. He has
masterfully woven many different fantasy elements together to give the
reader an exciting story that will leave a hunger for more. It is quite
amazing how vampires, immortal deities from the mythological world,
humans, fey, mages are all involved in this story and it comes over so
very natural and real. His characters are well written with Valerie
battling with the training she has received and the actual situation she
is being faced with. Raven is enigmatic, cool, a rebel of sorts and no
one wants to mess with him. He is not only a vampire, but also a mage.
Mr. Williams has added certain consequences to his magical elements to
give order and believability. Mr. Williams writes such vivid imagery that
the fight scenes seem to unroll before your very eyes, the scenery and the
characters come alive. This reviewer hopes that Samhain will put this
book out in print because this reviewer is already lining up for it.
