It takes awhile to figure out how everything is connected, but once you get it, you will be absolutely captivated by the characters, the different lands and the reasons behind the different actions of the characters. Ms. Surbeck describes everything with such detail that you get the feeling of being a part of the story. In this reviewer’s opinion it’s what makes her books keepers and why she is one of this reviewer’s auto-buy authors. Ms. Surbeck always finds a way to make her stories special in one way or the other.
