When this reviewer first received LOVE QUOTES AND THE PASSAGES FROM THE HEART, she flipped through it, giving a cursory glance at a few of the passages before turning back to the table of contents. At first, the compilation seemed interesting, but nothing special. Sitting down giving the table of contents a solid look, however, showed a well thought out presentation of subjects that speak to almost everyone. Choosing a few of the chapters to give a closer look to it became very clear that Ms. Aronson offers readers a banquet of quotes for every occasion. Memorials that are not only from the heart, as the title says, but to the heart. Offering, comfort, inspiration, and anticipation to readers is a cornerstone of this marvelous compilation.

Some of the quotations bring an immediate smile, such as Zsa Zsa Gabor’s “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house.” Others, such as Richard Hovey’s “There is no sorrow like love denied nor any joy like love that has its will” that bring a remembrance of long lost love.

Ms. Aronson also has what appears will be a similar book entitled Grace: Quotes and Passages for Heart, Mind and Soul that, if anything like LOVE QUOTES AND THE PASSAGES FROM THE HEART will be an inspiring, comforting and fun book as well. Inspiring because many of the passages do inspire—there were several mornings since receiving the book this reviewer was not quite ready to face the day yet when randomly flipping to a page found just the quote to get her going. Comforting because through many of the quotes it brings home that our ups and downs are also those felt by others. Fun because this reviewer quickly lit upon going through the book and picking a quote a day as a guidepost, of sorts, for the day.

If you are looking for a heartfelt gift LOVE QUOTES AND THE PASSAGES FROM THE HEART is an excellent choice, especially if you are looking to gift yourself.
