Lady Susanna
Cavendish is being forced to marry a barbaric heathen, a Scot. Raised in
a sheltered environment, Susanna has been taught that the Scots are
inferior to the English as they have no regard for civility. Blair
Ruthven is Laird of his clan. He agrees to marry Susanna because he was
ordered to by his King. Susanna and Blair enter marriage with their
preconceived notions of each other, it will take time for them to
understand and perhaps even love each other.
LEADING HER TO
HEAVEN was a surprisingly
entertaining story. Susanna heads into her marriage with a stiff upper
lip as she must do her duty. She is a very likable heroine with a spine
of steel. Blair is a perfect match for her. He is also doing his duty to
have some peace reign over the lands. Readers will certainly fall in love
with Blair and Susanna as their characters are fully developed. They do
share many things in common including their love of books. It did make
them seem like normal people. At their first meeting, Blair saves her
from attackers but doesn’t tell her who he is. This will throw a wrench
in their relationship when she finds out he is her future husband but it
is totally fun to watch these two hash it out. The sexual chemistry
between them is hot and heavy. The erotic scenes are weaved nicely into
the story as is the intrigue that pervades the time period.
This reader would
highly recommend LEADING HER TO HEAVEN for those who enjoy
their romances set in Scotland. The author pulls the reader into her
story from the get-go. With a charming lead couple, great supporting
characters, and an action-packed storyline – this was an all-around
winner!
