Historical Romance

Staid and proper Lord Wylde is searching for the right bride and thought he had her until out comes a secret he never expected: he was already promised to another. Unfortunately, Constantine is so proper and straitlaced, he finds himself in turmoil as he finds family secrets that have him seeing himself in a new light and once he meets wild, independent Lisabeth, he finally feels emotions not known to him before. Lisabeth has no desire to marry some man she never even met much less someone as proper and straitlaced as Lord Wylde. With each of them already decided on the fate of this supposed engagement, love has a way of knocking at their door when they least expect it. But with one engagement in the wings and another already in place, Constantine has to decide if he wants to win the heart of the pirate witch named Lisabeth, who can make him laugh even in the rain, or should he stay with the proper lady he originally selected because it is the right thing to do. Join Constantine and Lisabeth as they find love and mayhem waiting in the wings.

For the love of a pirate is a delightful story by Ms. Layton and captures the imagination of her readers from the first page to the last. With each stroke of her pen, this author truly captures the characters personalities completely. With wonderful secondary character as well as two exceptionally multidimensional characters, Ms. Layton truly delivers a timeless classic in For the love of a pirate.

Lisabeth is an independent thinking woman, who won’t tolerate all the proprieties that society shackled onto women back in the 18th century. Full of life and with an unconventional upbringing, she is like a breath of fresh air to this reviewer who was tired of the society misses who were so prim and proper. Lisabeth is innovating, daring and oh so shocking to Lord Wylde that he finds himself drawn to her even though he knows he shouldn’t be. With each page, this reviewer was waiting with bated breath to see what would happen next between these two, be it a bated question, flippant remark or a long sizzling look that fairly would singe the page. For the love of a Pirate is truly a wonderful read on a cold winters day for those who enjoy great characters, a rich background and a story that will have you sighing for love. This reviewer just wants to know if any of the secondary characters will get a story!!! Pick up For the love of a pirate and see what happens when staid Lord Wylde, Constantine meets the one woman who will turn his proper self into the pirate she knows he can be!
