Lee Ann Waters
needs a change of scenery. Her dad passed away and left her with enough
debt to mean she had to sell the ranch. She is now trying to get her
bearings and find a way to keep the horses she loves. When the Silver
Rock Ranch advertises for a new foreman, she knows she is “man” enough for
the job.
Clay Carter is down
on his luck, having been a cop who has been shot, and is still on desk
duty. He needs a change of scenery and after finding the ad for the
foreman position at a ranch he knows where he wants to go next. When he
shows up and finds only Lee Ann as his competition he thinks the job is
his.
Then the owner,
Charlie Bruce throws a twist on the plot and throws up a bargain, he will
hire both, and the best “man” will win the job. What neither Clay nor Lee
Ann expects is love to fall on the heads and hearts.
Susan C. Yarina is
a talented writer who has once again proved herself with BEST MAN FOR
THE JOB. She gives us two multi-dimensional characters that come
alive as they battle each other for the job. She creates humorous
scenarios that leave the reader thanking the stars they are not in their
predicament, yet she lets the reader empathize with their pain and
longings. This is a classic tale of love with twists and turns that will
leave the reader hoping yet doubtful of the outcomes.
BEST MAN FOR THE
JOB is a contemporary western that will appeal to not only readers of
western tales, but readers who love a sweet romance. The problems Clay
and Lee Ann face are not only related to the animals but to the issues
that women and men face when they try to bring their lives together
forever.
