Thabit has been
given orders to put down a possible band of renegades on the border of
Thebes. The orders have been given by Tutankhameun’s uncle, the real
power behind the throne while the king is still a boy. But, Thabit
wants to make sure first that these rebels aren’t maybe allies. But,
orders are orders. Before leaving, Thabit and his men enjoy the gifts
of wine, women and song. Except that Thabit has a different longing and
it comes in the form of Akil, a handsome scribe. Together, they secure
a private place to fulfil their longing for each other, as any public
show could mean Thabit’s bannishment or worse. One last night together
then Thabit must leave early in the morning to defend his beloved
Thebes.
Sabrina Luna
draws her readers back into ancient Egypt, to a land of hot sun, velvet
nights and even hotter men. In this short story, she gives the readers
a glimpse into the intrigues of the Egyptian court and makes sure her
readers hunger for more. Ms. Luna’s prose is almost poetical, the love
scene between Thabit and Akil very hot and the secondary characters
pivotal to the plot. This is a quickie for lovers of man-sex with lots
of deep emotion and a story that this reviewer thought was just way too
short. This reviewer would love to see more of these two lovers and
more of the story too. Hopefully, Sabrina Luna will again bring readers
back into the delightful world of Thabit and Akil.
