Better known as the Queen of Wolves Enora, the woman that once held
Aleric’s heart, has developed a campaign to summon the Dark Mother from
her prison, the Veil.
Determined to prevent this catastrophic event from taking place, Aleric
must raise his own army and accept his destiny as the “Chosen One” of
the vampyre’s, and lead his followers into battle to prevent Medhya, The
Queen of Serpents from crossing over into the mortal world.
This is the third installment of the Vampyricon series for Douglas Clegg
and this reviewer must say that THE QUEEN OF WOLVES was a good
read. There were so many aspects of this story that were written so
vividly that you actually get the impression that you are a bystander
watching all the events of his story unfold.
THE QUEEN OF WOLVES
provides an array interesting characters that heighten and stimulate the
storyline. The vampyre Aleric, who does not deny his fondness for
mortals, shows concern for his unborn child and willingly embraces his
destiny. Then there is Pythia, a ruthless and untrustworthy woman who
surprisingly shows a softer side when she weeps for an old man. And of
course, the evil Medhya, who was exiled to a prison for her lust of
power and immeasurable cruelty.
Douglas Clegg is a fine storyteller and has breathed to life a wonderful
fantasy. Although this reviewer had not read the prior two books in
this series, THE QUEEN OF WOLVES does stand well on its own. It
is however, this reviewer opinion that the prior two books be read (THE
PRIEST OF BLOOD and THE LADY OF SERPENTS) in order to better appreciate
the series.
