Amanda lives out in the middle of nowhere and the howling at night is scaring her.  An erotic romance writer, she can thank the howls for her present inspiration as she is writing a shapeshifter story.  Then she does the unthinkable and opens her door to find an injured, naked man who desperately needs her help.  Dane shouldn’t have left the pack.  Rogue wolves found him and almost killed him but he was able to get away.  Now he needs Amanda’s help to fix up his injuries and give him a place to rest.  He is surprised by the fact that her scent calls to him like a mate and they soon share a bed.  Dane will have to confess his nature to her and protect her from danger.  Will she accept him or run howling into the night? 

Karen Erickson has written a hot sensual story that thrills and chills.  This is a short story, and somewhat predictable, but Ms. Erickson writes with lots of tension and emotions which made this story very enjoyable.  She pulls the reader in, holds her captive and gives her a fun, sexy ride.  Her characters are very real.  These are the kind of characters a reader can care for and root for.  This reviewer enjoyed the dialogue between the characters and the sexual tensions between them sizzles and pops.  The sex scene is very well written, Dane is passionate and caring.  This reviewer can recommend this story to lovers of shapeshifter stories.  For a quickie in the afternoon, or a warm up on a winter’s evening, this is just the right thing.  Thanks, Ms. Erickson for a wonderful read.
