Margaret Berman and Cade Calhoun have more in common than the fact they are surgeons at the same hospital, they just don’t know how much yet. After a long night in the operating room Cade invites Margaret out for drinks, and as they start to relax the sexual tension mounts to new heights. Ms. Jacobs does an incredible job of making a short story satisfying and intense. The reader gets to know Maggie and Cade quite intimately as they get to know each other. The connection between them goes far beyond sex, as two such intelligent and career oriented people they wouldn’t be the type to enter into anything half-heartedly and this is conveyed quite well. They already had one another’s respect in the workplace and that respect translates into a very intense Dom/sub relationship.
