Two Ghosts for Sister Rachel by Kim Harrison

An undergraduate witch-in-training, Rachel Morgan, naively resurrects a spirit and gets involved in a showdown with a deadly undead adversary.  She only wanted to speak to her dead father, to get his approval on the direction she wanted to take with her life.

This is an emotion filled story about a girl who needs to face her fears and her weaknesses and take her life in her own hands.  The ghost she invokes helps her on this journey.  Kim Harrison starts this anthology with a great read which her fans will enjoy.

Run, Run, Rudolph by Lynsay Sands

After being attacked by a mad scientist, Jill is now being stalked by said scientist so he can experiment on her.  She will have to use all her newly found shapeshifting powers to hide from him.  She finds help and love in Nick, a man she’s been lusting after for a while.

Lynsay Sands has written a humorous story full of Yuletide suspense.  This reviewer had to laugh a few times while reading.  Ms. Sands gives her readers characters the reader can care and root for.  A wonderful little story, full of Christmas cheer.

Six by Marjorie M. Liu

In order to stop an unholy brotherhood from ringing in the New Year with blood, a small, but powerful government agent must join forces with a hunky necromancer.

A sensual tale, this author offers readers of this anthology a deep, emotional read that thrilled this reviewer and had her wishing there was more!  Ms. Liu keeps her readers captivated, a great read.

The Harvest by Vicki Pettersson

A former elite Zodiac Warrior is back in the mortal world to meet with her arch enemy for a Thanksgiving reunion.  Her goal is to do battle to save the lives of her imperiled children.

Ms. Pettersson writes a no holds barred story of the desperation of a mother trying to save her children.  This is an emotion filled story and one that ends this anthology on a bit of a melancholy note.
