Nicole was certain that her fate was to die in the grips of a horrible Gryphon.  But when the creature drops her into the icy loch, she is rescued by Val, a Shield chosen by the Fae to fight evil. 

Val, a one time general of the great Roman Empire is tormented by his past.  He has promised to keep Nicole safe from the great evil that wants her dead and will stop at nothing to keep his promise even if it means exorcising his past demons to complete his mission. 

Will he succeed in keeping her safe?  Will Nicole embrace her destiny as one of the chosen by the people of her realm to stop the great evil from tipping the scales in its favor?  Will they succumb to the temptation of building passion between them? 

This reviewer loved A FORBIDDEN TEMPTATION and it is probably one my top favorite stories I have read so far.  You will instantly fall in love with the charming, strong spirited and innocent Nicole.  She was a woman who yearned for a man’s touch and a loving family.  Basic emotions she needed to feel complete and something that this reviewer could wholeheartedly relate to. 

The reviewer had no doubt in her mind that Val was a strong warrior, but the one element this reader found that made him completely human was the fact that he was not perfect.  He was constantly fighting the temptations of his past addictions.  This reader thought it was honorable that he was man enough to come forward with his guarded secrets and acknowledged that this information might be used against him hindering his ability to keep Nicole safe.   

A FORBIDDEN TEMPTATION is enjoyably satisfying and will leave the reader desiring more.  There is romance, action at every turn, and of course very tastefully penned sex scenes.  Congratulations to Ms. Grant for making this story a memorable journey that left this reviewer thoroughly enthralled.  Although this is the first book I have read in the Shield’s series, it will definitely not be the last and highly recommend it as a must read.
