If you were told
you had thirty days to live, how would you spend the time you had left?
Ambrose Zephyr is
fifty ears old when he is told he has about a month to live. Determined
to make the most of the time he has left, he takes his beloved wife,
Zipper on a trip to visit their favorite places or places that they have
always wanted to see. Due to an alphabet obsession from childhood he
decides to hit 26 places, from A to Z.
THE END OF THE
ALPHABET
is author CS Richardson’s debut novel. When this reviewer picked up this
book she thought, “short book, not a good start”, as she isn’t a fan of
short stories. THE END OF THE ALPHABET is a mere 152 pages. But
it is packed with a punch!
This book is all
about love, life and death. The love that our main characters, Ambrose
and Zipper share is nothing short of amazing. This reader could really
feel for Zipper as she struggles to come to grips with the pending death
of the love of her life…her soul mate. Anyone who has shared this kind
of love should read this book. They truly share a one-of-a-kind love.
For such a short
novel, Mr. Richardson did a wonderful job. But this reader would have
liked to have had a few more pages added; have liked a bit more history
of this amazing couple included.
This reviewer found
the premise of the tale very intriguing and emotionally gripping.
However, this reader found parts hard to get through, be it because of
the emotions or because parts of the prose proved to be sluggish and the
storyline stilted. However, this reader felt that the messages within
the pages worth the continuation of reading.
