When Jareth was
killed Fate intervened in the form of Jessica Belstowe who pulled his
soul back in time to 1657, to the very day when Jareth’s brother and his
lover were killed and he became a vampire. In order to protect him from
Morena, Jessica bound Jareth to her, he is now her shelmir. She
has given him a second chance at life. The bond is not what Jareth
would have chosen and he is far from pleased. She now wonders if she
has made a terrible mistake and risked her own heart to be cruelly
broken. But the bond will not be denied and when Morena seeds to break
the bond through burning Jessica alive, will Jareth risk the flame to
save her?
This reviewer is
so pleased to see this sequel to Hearts Eternal. The redemption
of Jareth is a beautiful story told with compassion and feeling.
Rebecca Goings gives her readers characters they can care for. Jessica
is a woman in love and only thinks to save the man who she cares deeply
for. At first, this reviewer wanted to slap Jareth, but having read
Hearts Eternal and knowing where he comes from, his reaction is
natural. Ms. Goings gives her readers a great plot, with a truly
villainous vampire witch for a villain and exciting twists and turns.
The sexual tension is high and the love scenes are sensual and
romantic. This reviewer can highly recommend both books for a complete
and satisfying read.
