Candace Steele
hasn’t been the same since she was bitten by her lover, Ash who turns out
to be a vampire. It took 36 stitches and a plastic surgeon to repair the
wound but still it left a scar. Candace sports a tattoo of a black cross
to camouflage it. Ash’s bite has also given her the ability to sense when
a vampire is near. Now she is out seducing and killing vampires as a
secondary career. Her first is working security at a Las Vegas casino
where there is plenty of opportunities to meet new people and catch a few
vampires in the process. Temptation McCoy is having a concert at the
hotel and Candace is assigned to her security detail. With her vampire
radar, she realizes that Temptation’s manager is a vampire. How will she
deal with this situation?
PASSIONATE
THIRST is the first book in
this new trilogy by Cameron Dean. It is a winner from the opening page
until the end. The reader is sucked into Candace’s story as it unfolds.
Candace is a kick-ass heroine who makes use of her sensuality to catch her
prey. The reader is given her back story in flashbacks. Ash is the one
who changes her life forever. The love story is quite sweet until Ash
loses control and bites her. His reappearance in her life and his
profession of love unsettles her. She doesn’t believe it but Ash is the
only one who makes her feel alive. Candace and Ash are electric together.
This reader can’t wait to see what happens in the subsequent books between
them.
Although there is
much focus on Ash and Candace’s relationship, the author does develop
Temptation McCoy’s story with her vampire manager. There is an unexpected
twist to this storyline that was unexpected. PASSIONATE THIRST
was a compelling read that will have you wanting the next books in the
series immediately. It is a very good thing that the publisher has
scheduled Luscious Craving for release in November and Eternal
Hunger in December 2006!!!
