Alone in his cabin,
practically cut off from the rest of the world, Aerdyn lives out his
lonely existence after being banned from the Seelie court. He had been
accused of the murder of the one person he had truly loved and who without
he will surely die for they had been bonded. When Lian finds him and
tells him that his love was not lost, that to save her magic and her
essence she had joined her soul with his, Aerydn is at first angry,
frustrated and in despair. But as Lian, who is his loves younger brother,
and who looks so much like her starts to talk to him and proves in so many
ways that she still is there even he cannot deny the truth. How can they
still be together? And can they go back to the Seelie court so that
Aerdyn find out the truth?
Michael Barnette
has written a very haunting dark story. Certainly very different than any
other male/male story this reviewer has ever read, because the soul of the
female is inside the male, Mr. Barnette has captured this reviewer and
held her until the very last page. Although this reviewer is not much of
a male/male romance reader, this was a very enjoyable book and Mr.
Barnette kept this reviewer’s attention throughout. The whole story is
very poignant with lots of emotions. Our hero is a dark and tortured soul
who feels that everything is over for him. With great prose, Mr. Barnette
opens those emotions up to the reader. Then the anguish when our hero
realizes that his beloved still lives, even though inside her brother’s
body. This reviewer sighed many a time while reading this poignant tale.
Mr. Barnette has just gotten himself a new fan!
