Detective Ronnie Chase has dedicated her life to serving justice, just as her father did before her.  When she becomes the target of a madman, the last thing she wants is to be paired with a new partner.  But with her current partner having personal problems that have worked themselves into the job, Ronnie needs a partner she can rely on.

Detective Danny Monroe is sent in to help Ronnie solve the mystery of the madman and keep Ronnie safe.  He turns out to be so much more that Ronnie could have ever hoped for in a partner, both on the job and off.  As things heat up between Ronnie and Danny, the killer’s threat becomes greater, coming closer and closer to Ronnie.  It is just a matter of time now.

Emery LaRue’s GOODNIGHT, SWEETHEART is an action-packed blend of romance and suspense.  Though this reader had pretty much guessed who the madman was from the beginning of the book, the suspense was built at the same pace as the romance and the combination proved exciting. 

LaRue’s writing style is fresh and imaginative and her characters intense.  She does a wonderful job of setting the scene and drawing readers into her story.

Though the book is unquestionably suspenseful, there is a definite sense of let down when all suspicions are proven correct and the hoped for “big reveal” never comes to pass.  Still the passion is highly erotic and the storyline well thought out.  Emery LaRue is a writer that fans of romantic suspense really want to keep on their radar.
