Bill was rethinking
his decision to attend college in the north. Being from southern
California, the cold wasn’t something he was used to. Added to the fact
that he was probably spending the long weekend holiday alone, he comforts
himself with the fact that he has his microwave, plenty of popcorn and hot
chocolate. The storms outside ensure that he will not be going out over
the weekend. Paul, his roommate is very elusive and he hardly ever sees
him, so Billy was surprised when Paul shows up and announces he’ll be
there for the weekend too. Now they have the time to get to know each
other. Turns out that Paul has some interesting ways of keeping warm over
the weekend and Billy finds they have more in common than he first
thought.
This is a short
read that will give the reader an insight into first love. Two young boys
discover each other and themselves in a very tender way. Jade Falconer
has a way with words that draws the reader into the story right from the
beginning. Her two characters are charming and sweet and their discovery
of themselves, although highly erotic, is, at the same time innocent and
pure. Mrs. Falconer writes wonderful characters. The reader can get
right into their emotions and this reviewer, who isn’t usually a big M/M
reader, did enjoy the sweetness between the two boys as they discover and
act upon their attraction. This reviewer believes that readers of M/M
will enjoy this short story very much and new readers to the genre will
equally enjoy it.
