Paul Kessler is an
attorney. He should never have gotten involved with the wife of the chief
of police who also happened to be a judge whom he found himself arguing
cases before. But the knowledge of his mistake really comes to the front
of his mind when the woman is found murdered and all signs point to him as
the murderer. Now Kessler must find out who really killed Judge Carol Macy
and who is setting him up before he is tossed into prison for a crime he
did not commit. Or worse, is the killer’s next victim.
James Hunt has
penned a novel about an attorney who must break the laws that he has sworn
to keep in order to prove his innocence of murder. This reviewer felt that
while this is understandable, there should have been a bit of a
repercussion for those actions, no matter how warranted they were. That
aside,
BEFORE THEY
MAKE YOU RUN
is a fast paced tale that kept this reader glued to the pages from start
to finish, totally riveting. Kessler has a fight on his hands proving who
really did it when he has to fight dirty cops and does not know whom he
can or cannot trust. The flow of the book is smooth with nary a dull
moment to keep the reader’s interest quipped. This is a book to be
savoured, not rushed through. The characters are well thought out and vary
in likeability; there are many that the reader will love to hate. The
ending comes with a relative satisfying conclusion.
