In a plot to take
over Earth, the Anaz-Voohri kidnap twelve young girls. One of these
exceptional children was the sister of Zack Duncan. Thus begins his
lifelong quest to destroy the Anaz-Voohri and rescue his sister. The only
thing in his life as important is Tia Vargas.
Born with
exceptional strength, stamina and intelligence, Tia Vargas has always
excelled at everything and tended to intimidate everyone, with the
exception of Zack Duncan. Working with Zack in a special task force
formed to study and eliminate the Anaz-Voohri, they fall in love.
However, injuries and the manipulations of others manage to separate this
team. Will they be able to find their way back to each other?
ANAZ-VOOHRI
by Vijaya Schartz is an engrossing tale of the fight against an alien race
determined to have the planet Earth for themselves. Full of secrets,
ambitions and political machinations, ANAZ-VOOHRI keeps the reader
on her toes just trying to absorb all the information that is put forth.
Not easy to follow especially with some of the time jumps being rather
jerky and some characters being mentioned briefly in the beginning of the
book making reappearances toward the end, still the story itself makes it
all worthwhile. This reviewer almost recommends keeping a notepad handy
to track the secondary characters especially as ANAZ-VOOHRI is the
first book in an ambitious multi-author series, Operation Pleiades.
For this reviewer,
the hero Zack is what causes the whole tale to be so engrossing. He is
just a teenager when his sister is kidnapped and the reader is able to
follow this remarkable man’s tale until his late 30’s. Zack is a very
intelligent and complex man that this reader would love to be able to sit
down and talk over a good cup of tea. Tia, the heroine, just does not
seem to have the same depth as Zack and at times appears to be almost an
afterthought.
