Attempting to surprise her fiancé,
Mollie Mason bribes the stripper who was hired to pop out of the cake at
the bachelor party to exchange places with her. The surprise is on her as
she sits inside the cake listening to Blaine diss her. To add icing to the
cake she pops out to find him in a compromising position with one of the
strippers. As If her night couldn’t get any worse he doesn’t recognize her
when she walks up to him and calls him a no good pig! Humiliated she flees
the party and the embarrassment.
Crying in a stairwell Mollie doesn’t
know what to do. All her belongings are back at the party. In walks Cade
to the rescue.
Cade watched the unfortunate events
unfold, wondering how anyone would want to hurt sweet Mollie. He takes her
away from all the pain but will he be able to rid it permanently? If he
has any say about it he will.
When Mollie propositions Cade to find
out if she’s really as frigid as her ex-fiancé claims will Cade be able to
handle the challenge or will he disappear leaving Mollie to wonder?
TAKING THE CAKE is a roller
coaster ride of emotions. One moment you’ll be laughing at the heroine’s
antics, the next you’re sitting on the edge of your seat anticipating her
reaction to her circumstances. Kate Davies has done a spectacular job in
crafting a believable story along with real life characters. Mollie’s
courage to actually bribe the stripper is every woman’s dream come true.
Two cheers for Ms. Davies reenactment of every woman deep dark secret
longing, to be a spy at her fiancés bachelor party.
Cade is most definitely a knight in
shining armor as he rides into town and rescues the heroine from herself!
Ms. Davies has outdone herself with her hero. He’s sexy, sweet and most
loveable. This reviewer felt herself pulled in from the moment I met him.
This reviewer felt passionate about his feelings for the heroine.
TAKING THE CAKE was more than
this reviewer imagined it would be. Ms. Davies ability to weave a story is
remarkable. This reviewer looks forward to reading more from Ms. Davies,
thus highly recommending this book.
