Dee Decker’s life has gone through so many changes within the last year. She has separated from her cheating husband, gone through gastric bypass surgery and has gone from a size 28 down to a size 10, and feels beautiful for the first time in years.  She has a wonderful job as a fundraising executive in Southern California but the biggest change is that she has accepted God into her life.  She finally feels that her life is on the right track. That is until a job offer takes her to Las Vegas. The FAITH Project is right up her alley for her newfound Christianity and her expertise in her career. But things keep happening that she can not explain. And her past and present are about to come together in a way that she never could have imagined.

Author Allison Bottke has penned a novel that this reader could relate to. Dee Decker is not the normal and stereotypical heroine in a romance novel. She is not perfect, inside or out. How refreshing! Dee does have a job to be envious of, however. She spends her days planning exciting balls and galas and rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. So when she discovers her husband is having an affair she sets out to rediscover herself. Not only does she lose 150 pounds, she also finds God. This reviewer felt that Ms Bottke has done an amazing job, penning the startled and uncomfortable reactions of friends and family to Dee’s Born Again faith.

A STITCH IN TIME has an array of wonderful characters. Besides Dee, this reader absolutely loves Lily, the lady who hires Dee to come to Las Vegas to help them become organized in their FAITH Project. Lily is like a fish out of water who has been floundering for four years and now things have to get moving or they will lose the land that has been donated for their project, enter Dee. In Vegas Dee discovers more than she ever expected. Isn’t Las Vegas called Sin City? How can Faith prosper there? Kudos to Ms Bottke for giving a different perspective to another side of Las Vegas.  But this reviewer’s favourite part of the book has to be when Dee’s past becomes her present only better.

What a wonderfully heartfelt story. A STITCH IN TIME is a very highly recommended read for inspirational and women’s fiction lovers out there. Do not wait to purchase this one. You will not be disappointed.
