Impetuous redhead Kate McTavish finds herself running away from her
impending nuptials in the middle of an ice storm simply because she feels
she cannot cope with what she envisions her future life to be. Naturally
she has a horrific crash in her sporty little Mustang and is rescued by
the enigmatic Dayton Deveraux, who due to circumstances in his past, has a
strong dislike of spunky redheads. Forced by the weather to spend the
night together, they explore their instantaneous attraction, but Kate has
some lingering aftereffects from the accident and ultimately finds herself
blinded. What happens next are consequences that follow their actions and
surprising twists and turns as Kate and Dayton follow the path that they
must navigate together. Will they be able to overcome the daunting odds
and build a future together?
Based on the old adage “There are none so blind as those who will not
see,” NONE SO BLIND is a complex tale filled with conflict, angst
and ultimately triumph. Kate and Dayton are characters who are imperfect
at best and at times downright unlikeable, but Ms. McPhee has managed to
write a tale that is engrossing and enjoyable, as this reviewer has found
all of her stories to be. Ultimately, the reader watches both characters
grow and expand beyond their limitations into people who triumph despite
the obstacles of life. This story is somewhat more sensual than other
books this reviewer has read by Ms. McPhee, but those details add to the
plot line of this particular tale and still do not take it outside of the
boundaries of sweetly sensual romance rather than explicit romance. Ms.
McPhee also does an outstanding job of building the characters’ past lives
and showing why incidents in their pasts have made them into the flawed
individuals they are at the beginning of the tale. Ms. McPhee has written
a fabulous contemporary romance that is sure to please her existing fans
as well as gain her new ones. This reviewer highly recommends this tale
to all contemporary romance fans!
