Lucy Stone and her best friend Martha
McKenna are fed up with the men in New York City. They may be secure in
their feminine side, have good looks and money, but they don’t know how to
treat a woman. Lucy may love her boyfriend, but what she really wants is a
man who can stand up to her, without hurting her.
She wants a real man’s man, who can
change a tire, build a fire and most of all who is not afraid of hard
work.
When Martha dreams up the idea of
sending men to camp to learn to be real men, the idea seems far-fetched.
Lucy’s best friend from college, Cooper comes to town, and Martha wins him
over with her idea and they decide the first session of MAN CAMP is
to be held on Cooper’s dairy farm, in West Virginia.
MAN CAMP is a hilariously funny
novel filled with humor and romance. It contains all of the elements a
reader needs to fall in love with the characters and even more so, the
feelings behind the camp. Lucy and Martha are really both loveable
characters, even when their heads are in the clouds. They know what they
want; they just need a shove to help them find it.
Adrienne Brodeur has a masterful skill
using the English language. She has created a dramatically humorous tale
that will keep readers turning the pages just waiting to find out what
Cooper has in store for his campers. Martha’s brother turns from the geeky
guy you wonder if there is help for, into a cute guy just waiting on the
right woman. Martha falls in love, and the surprises left in this novel
make it well worth the purchase price!
