Janie Powell has left all she knows
behind in an attempt to escape her abuse filled past and lands on her feet
as a waitress in Pop’s Diner. The number of people who want to help her
and take care of her when she has an accident at work because she was
startled surprises her. Most surprising of all is handsome hardware store
owner Myles Channing. Slowly Myles convinces Janie that he is worthy of
her trust, and they embark on a remarkable relationship. Can Janie truly
learn to trust and begin her life anew or will her past demons make a new
love impossible for her?
LEARNING TO TRUST is the first
entry in a trio of Blue Plate Special romances written by three different
authors of Moonlit Romance. While all of the characters are present in
each novel and the action is simultaneous, they all contain enough
pertinent details to be stand alone tales. While billed as a romantic
comedy, LEARNING TO TRUST is as likely to make the reader cry as it
is laugh, and in this reviewer’s mind, that’s a good thing! Although
short in length, this richly detailed story packs a wallop of a good
tale. Ms. Hamby, along with the other authors, has written a tale full of
vivid details and memorable characters that lingers with the reader long
after the last page is turned. This reviewer was enthralled by the love
story of Janie and Myles and enchanted by the secondary characters as
well. The story does not disappoint in the romance department either,
with just enough sizzle for a hot summer’s day read. This reviewer highly
recommends this story to any fans of contemporary romance and sincerely
hopes that more tales will emerge from Pop’s Diner in the future!
