Tor
Harnesson Gunner, head of the Noble House of Gunner, can’t stand the
destruction caused by the nobles against the less fortunate. In his
desperate need to get away from his responsibilities he and a friend go to
the wall that separates the two societies where he hears a siren’s call,
the laugh of a young woman.
Spark has had a
rough childhood and even rougher life, fighting along side of the other
rebels she hopes for a better future and the intense man whose body is
pressed tightly against hers. When she first sees Tor
he is imposing to say the least, but his gentle nature and tender loving
shine through in a way that literally steals
Sparks breath.
The hero and
heroine in this story a frustrating to say the least. Neither faces their
true feelings and needs for each other. Both are strong willed and
pigheaded, but they both believe in the cause they are fighting for. The
freedom of Spark’s people.
The hero, Tor,
is the strong silent type, while
Spark lives up to her name. The characters and surroundings are told in
vivid detail and though at times the reader will feel bogged down by the
story jumping from past to present. The readers are blessed by always
feeling what the hero and heroine feel, seeing what they see, smelling
what they smell, but mostly crying when they cry and feeling a fierce and
undeniable rage when they do.
The story brings
force every one of your senses in vivid detail while keeping the reader
grounded to what is happening in front of you. The author Madison Hayes
has a wonderful and vivacious imagination and brings anyone who reads this
along for the ride aptly named KINGDOM OF
YUTE:
TOR’S BETRAYAL.
