Historical Romance

Although headstrong and willful, Marjory de Warenne has the looks of an angel with her silver hair and pale green eyes.  As a lady-in-waiting, she gives her heart to the infamous Guy de Beauchamp.  Her father and brother are not happy with her choice and when Guy asks them for her hand, they give him a lot of reasons why he is not suitable and that Marjory has chosen someone else.  Marjory never learns that he has asked for her hand and she is led to believe that he has betrayed her.  Their lives go separate ways.  Through her marriage, her husband’s death, through her dalliance with Robert the Bruce, one man invades her thoughts and dreams.  The passion that she once found with Guy will again be rekindled as history marches on.

Virginia Henley weaves historical pageantry, breathless tension and a sensual romance to this high medieval story.  Rich characters, wonderful prose and heart-stopping excitement will have the reader turning the pages of this book.  Ms. Henley shows how Marjory grows from a young virgin, to lover, to wife and finally matures enough to claim the man she has truly loved through everything.  Ms. Henley gives her reader a glimpse into times gone by and has enough historical background to bring the period to life.  Highly sensuous, the love scenes are sizzling and passionate.  This reviewer just immersed herself into this story and read it in one sitting.  It was captivating and a true adventure.  It left her breathless and with lots of warm fuzzies at the end.  Ms Henley’s fans will love this just as much as this reviewer did.
