Angeni Shiku, an
Indian raised on the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation and a shifter has
been waiting patiently for her sister to leave her abusive husband and for
her singing career to take off. Little did Angeni realize it would all
happen in one night. What could be even more surprising is finding her
mate the next night, Kaus Borealis.
Kaus Borealis is a
talent agent for Aristal Labels, Native American and fellow shifter. When
Kaus first hears Angeni’s angelic voice singing, his protective nature
comes crashing to the surface. Not only does he want to get her from her
sinister boss, but to also offer her a stable future, where he can check
up on her all he wants.
ANGENI is a
twist on what some may or may not believe about shape shifters and the
Indian’s way of spirit walking. This reviewer enjoyed reading about the
Native American culture and felt that the author did a wonderful job
showing the reader about this unique culture even though the reader
wanting even more immersion.
Though some of the
language was a little difficult and the phrases were explained in such a
way that it did not hold the reader back much. The characters themselves
were shown in a light only to be matched by meeting them in person. With
murder, love, fear, and need all for the taking, Cricket Sawyer has taken
us from our known reality and shifted us into hers.
