Because of a case of mistaken identity Sarah finds herself abducted and
being held prisoner by a ruthless mobster. He wants information on
property he says belongs to him that he believes she has. Only she does
not because she is not who he thinks she is. But she is not about to tell
him that and get her best friend into trouble. And she is not any more
impressed with the man who has come to rescue her. Will their strong
personalities clash too much for them to find freedom before the men
chasing them find them?
Readers need to find a seat with a safety belt before delving into this
tale. AGAINST THE ODDS starts out action packed and never lets up.
Clint’s job is to rescue Sarah off of the island she is being held on. But
things get really hairy very soon. The jungle can be a very dangerous
place; things that slither, animals, both the four and two legged variety.
Not a place or a situation where one would plan on experiencing a physical
attraction.
Clint can not stand
lippy and yappy women, which is exactly what Sarah is. And Clint is not
exactly Sarah’s type either, but the chemistry between these two fairly
scorches the pages. Both of these characters are well defined and very
believable. Ms Wallace’s pen flows smoothly and
richly across the pages, and this reader was hard pressed to put this book
down. The detail of our couple’s escapades will leave the reader feeling
like they are actually in the jungle with Sarah and Clint. So grab the bug
repellent before perusing these pages, the reader will feel like they need
it. AGAINST THE ODDS is a wonderful and exciting read that kept
this reviewer on the edge of the seat and breathless with anticipation on
what will come next and is a highly recommended read.
