Mercykill, a three
man band, is making their way to the top with the help of their manager.
The four of them are a very tight-knit team with a very special
relationship between them. Tragedy strikes however when their manager is
brutally mudered before their very eyes during a concert. Now, the rest
of the band, Hana, Kei and Maki need to pull themselves out of the depth
of sorrow and find out why the detectives assigned to the case think that
they are the ones who killed her, and find the real killer. Their only
comfort at first is the relationship these three very different men have
between each other that strengthens them and holds them together. Through
the things they experience at the hands of their enemies and friends they
are brought closer to each other, until even in the depths of deepest
despair a way out is offered to them. But is it worth it? Through all
the hardships and hurts, Kita, their dead lover and manager, is with them,
guiding and helping.
Michael Barnette
has written an epic story of wide emotional depth that will fascinate and
hold the reader until the very last page. This reviewer was glued to her
monitor devouring every single word. He gives his reader a glimpse into
the world of manga and yaoi and has written emotional, realistic
characters that are multi-dimensional and who leap off the pages. He
gives his reader a story that is as brutal as it is emotional and
engaging. It is a story that will have the reader holding her breath,
scrolling frantically, and sighing with relief at its end. It is also a
story that will have the reader begging for more, and more there will be
as this is the first in a series of stories involving the music band,
Mercykill. Mr. Barnette holds nothing back. He writes emotional love
scenes between his characters, high action, and he manages to squeeze
every emotion out of the reader. This reviewer bows to Mr. Barnette’s
awesome talent and waits somewhat impatiently for the next story.
