MARRIED BY
MISTAKE begins as a humiliating experience on reality television,
which leads to all kinds of repercussions.
Casey Greene has
decided she has been engaged long enough, and when an offer to have a
paid-for wedding and honeymoon comes along, Casey grabs it quickly. The
only problem is that the groom’s on the program have no idea what is going
to happen. Instead she ends up thinking the marriage to the owner of the
TV station Adam Carmichael, is fake. When they learn the crew member is
still licensed to perform any ceremony, they decide to pretend it is real.
The longer they live in the same place, the tighter the ties become, plans
for an annulment go ahead, but is it what they really want? With an
interfering stepmother and a romantically inclined lawyer added to the
mix, it becomes a not easy to predict love story.
A comedy with some
very sad and emotional scenes added to the plot, as two lost souls work
out their problems. The main characters are larger than life, with their
own agenda and ways of dealing with rejection. Secondary characters add
another interesting layer, as the story unfolds. The heroine wants to be
adored, but has no idea of how to receive this. Left standing literally
empty handed at her wedding, she feels cheated and bereft. The groom also
has many hidden issues to work through, so the conflict is strong. Neither
recognizes the way they feel is turning into love as part of the sexual
attraction. They have to learn that ignoring each other will ruin their
quest for love and happiness. The secondary, mature love story was very
well done and fitted smoothly into the main plot.
