Devarian Pleasure Slave

As a young boy on Kasmalia, Merkun only wanted freedom. Attempts at escape led only to beatings until one instance when he was caught by a compassionate Guardian. This prequel to the Devarian trilogy is a revisitation to a world where women dominate and men have little say. Fans will be thrilled to have the back story of two very intriguing characters from the series.

Merkun’s plight and forced compromises throughout are handled extremely well. His wishes for the impossible and gratitude for what he can receive gives him a complete underdog appeal. That he is sexy, intelligent, and loyal to those he cares for as well as to his own ideals makes his story fascinating.

Of the two Guardian females who help him in this book, Amista again shines as she did in her brief appearance in Devarian Revolution. There is something in her helpfulness, consideration, stoicism and willing sacrifice that lifts her from merely being compassionate into the realm of sincerely noble.

Though this story can be read as a stand alone, one suspects that readers will want to read all of the books in this flamingly hot series. DEVARIAN PLEASURE SLAVE may be read at the beginning or the end of the series, but the latter option may give a greater impact.

Ms Dafoe’s ability to pen stories that have such intensity of emotion truly captivates the reader. This installment does not at all disappoint.

One should be aware that this book contains ménage a trois and m/m sex scenes.
