There are some days that
deserved to be downed at birth….
Customs Agent
Lucy Trenton just wasn’t having a good day or perhaps that might be a
good week. It starts off when she is the senior officer available
during a salvage operation and goes from bad
to worse when she is attached by a cipher. And now she is being
blackmailed about her secret and highly illegal cache of
ciphers. If it wasn’t for the fact that her actions would reflect badly
on the royal family, she would just let the blackmailer tell all….
Any book that
starts of with one of the best opening lines that this reviewer has ever
come across has to be good. And THE CIPHER by Diana Pharoh
Francis doesn’t disappoint by any means. Lucy Trenton is one of those
heroines that readers will really relate too. Not too pretty and
certainly not to rich, she is just trying to enjoy her life when someone
comes across her secrets and now Lucy has her hands full trying to
protect her family and friends, let alone herself.
Fast paced from
the beginning, this reader was swept away in the world of Crosspointe
where dangerous majick courses thru the black water of the Inland Seas.
The new majicks and characters were totally fascinating and well worth
reading. The pacing towards the end of the book however felt forced,
almost as though the author wanted to hurry the ending up. Other then
that, THE CIPHER is well worth reading. Be sure to get your copy
