After a nearly fatal heart attack Nicki Styx discovers that she is able
to see dead people, especially her murdered friend Caprice, who
introduces her to the voodoo underworld. But her stay at the hospital
also has a big advantage that arrives in the person of emergency doc Joe
Bascombe, who is doing research on near-death experiences. The situation
gets complicated when Caprice asks Nicki to get her boyfriend / murderer
into jail.
DEAD GIRLS ARE EASY
is the debut novel by Terri Garey and the beginning of a new series. The
book is pure entertainment and you should read it for fun and not look
too critically at it. The main characters are a lot of fun, but the plot
has some holes in it and some issues are left open, but that might be
because it is the start of a new series and the things will be made
clear in the future books. This reviewer especially will be watching to
see how the relationship between Joe and Nicki develops. It might be a
little annoying for some readers to see that is open ended, but you have
to keep in mind that Ms. Garey is a new author and the idea behind the
series has a lot of potential. This reviewer will definitely keep an eye
on this author and series to see how the next book will be.
