An ancient force
called the soulmate imperative brings together magic practitioners and
their mates. The story says that they always nearly fall into each
other’s arms at first sight. Or do they?
Computer wizard,
and yes, he really is a wizard, Clay Morgan meets Francie Stevens and
the soulmate imperative immediately starts acting up, letting him know
he has found his mate. Trouble is, Francie has been hurt deeply by a
good looking, charming man and doesn’t want anything to do with Clay.
She’s not a magic practitioner and she certainly doesn’t believe in
anything magical.
But the
imperative has other ideas and Clay is in agreement. Now he needs to
convince Francie that magic does exist and she is meant for him. A
tough job and one that Clay realizes he can’t manage on his own.
Francie surprises Clay and the imperative by using it against him in
ways they never anticipated.
This reviewer
enjoys stories where there are witches, wizards and such folk as heroes
and heroines. In this story, Clay is the wizard, using his magic in the
world of computers. Ms Macela has created a world where wizards live
among us, using their talents in everyday life, according to their
abilities. The sexual tension runs high as Clay tries every trick in
the book to get Francis to accept him. There are some pretty hot, toe
curling, bone melting kissing going on, but Francis is one tough
cookie. Ms Macela also gives her readers a very entertaining story that
holds them captive from the first page. This reviewer had only one
small complaint. There was, in this reviewer’s opinion a bit too much
internal dialogue which this reviewer found a tad boring, but, this
reviewer did enjoy this story and would love to read the first story,
The Oldest Kind Of Magic.
